Hello Possums ! The 2024 Ringtail Tally has now finished. How many possums have you counted? It’s now time to return your data sheets, keeping in mind no possums sighted are as important as 10 possums seen when it comes to collecting data. This will give us an idea of what is happening with possum populations over time. Please return completed data sheets by 31st May , 2024. Our preferred method is electronic submission – take a photo or scan and email to geocatch@dwer.wa.gov.au. Alternatively, post to PO Box 269 Busselton WA 6280. If you have lost your data sheet, visit the GeoCatch website to download a new copy. When you return your data sheet, you will automatically go into a prize draw to win a possum box, hand-made by Busselton Men’s Shed. If you are having any difficulties or have questions, call 0491 069 078. Thank you so much for helping us understand possums better in urban areas.Photo by Wendy Spencer. #criticallyendangeredspecies #westernringtail #ringtailtally #westernringtailpossum #busseltonwa #petsawaypossumsplay #petsnightin #criticallyendangered

A big thanks to the Year 3 students from Vass Primary School who helped with a beach cleanup this week at Dolphin Rd foreshore! Among the usual assortment of plastics, bottles, and marine debris, the students noticed quite a few items of clothing and towels left behind at the beach; a good reminder to ensure you have all your belongings before leaving the beach.Back at the school, GeoCatch project officers Nicole Lincoln and Lisa Massey guided the students through the interactive catchment model. The catchment model uses a 3-dimensional model that allows students to simulate pollution and runoff into our river systems.Well done to all the students and Ms. Caledonia Clark for organising the excursion. #gardenguardians #bayok #geographebay #busseltonwa #petsawaypossumsplay
