catchment_monitoring_img This project aims to provide water quality data to assist management of the waterways with the Geographe Catchment. Data collected feeds into the water quality support model developed by the Department of Water as part of the Water Quality Improvement Plan for the Vasse Wonnerup Wetlands and Geographe Bay (WQIP). The results of the model provides GeoCatch with information on where the sources of nutrients are coming from and allows GeoCatch to target projects in those areas.

Achievements
  • Fortnightly sampling of twenty-one sites in the Geographe Catchment from Capel to Eagle Bay
  • All data entered into the Water Information Network Database managed by the Department of Water

Funding and Partnerships

This project is funded by the State NRM Program, and supported by the Department of Water.

Project Future

The project will continue in 2015 with sampling and analysis of the twenty-one sites in the catchment. The continued collection of water quality data is important to enable GeoCatch in conjunction with the Department of Water to track the water quality changes that are occurring in the catchment over time.
