Marine Matters community science seminar

70 community members gathered at the Busselton Tennis Club to hear about the latest scientific research being conducted in Geographe Bay.

The presentations are available for download:

  • Dr Marlene Wesselmann and Caitlyn O’Dea from Edith Cowan University presented findings on 13 years of seagrass research in Geographe Bay. Download here.
  • Ngari Capes Marine Park Scientist Tanika Shalders from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions presented on Marine Park studies (Download not available)
  • OzFish Program Manager for WA Steve Pursell presented on seagrass restoration and fish hotels for freshwater fish and marron. Download here.
  • Director / Chair Geographe Marine Research Ian Wiese presented on whale research in Geographe Bay. Download here.

The KeepWatch seagrass monitoring project is coordinated by GeoCatch and funded by Water Corporation, with in-kind support from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.
