Living Dams, Thriving Farms Workshop

Ready to get more out of your farm dam?

Learn how to enhance your farm dam and plant shelter belts

Join GeoCatch for a workshop where rehabilitation expert, Greg Overton, will talk about how to enhance your dam to improve water quality, improve water security, and support a more resilient farm landscape. Enhancing farm dams by controlling livestock access and increasing vegetation cover can transform the way your dam functions, and Greg will take you through the practical steps to make it happen on your property.

You’ll also hear from plant specialist Rod Cary, who will share his expertise on choosing the right native species for dam enhancement and, as a bonus, how to select plants for simple, effective shelterbelts that complement your property plan.

Saturday, 8 August 2026

9.30am to 11.30am

Geographe Community Landcare Nursery, Ambergate

You’ll learn how to:

  • Plan and plant dam revegetation for better water quality and habitat
  • Design effective shelterbelts that improve stock welfare and farm productivity
  • Select species that suit your site, soil type and hydrology
  • Manage weeds, protect young plants and set up long‑term success

If you’re looking to build a healthier, more productive farm landscape, this workshop gives you the practical know‑how to get started with confidence.
