Vasse Surge Barrier Drop-in

If you have ever wondered how the gates on the Vasse surge barrier work, here is your chance to come and find out. Community members and Vasse estuary neighbours are invited to ‘drop in’ to the Vasse surge barrier.

Staff from the Water Corporation and the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation will be on-site to answer questions such as:

  • How do the different gates work on the Vasse surge barrier?
  • How do they protect us from storm surges?
  • How do managers use the gates in summer to manage fish kill risk?

Drop into the Vasse surge barrier at Layman Rd, Wonnerup. 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Tuesday 25th October.
