GeoCatch have celebrated achievements across the Geographe Catchment. Some of the highlights of the 2022-2023 year included an increase in protected biodiversity through the fencing of 8 hectares of farmland and the planting of 8,905 seedlings. Understanding of nutrient sources within the catchment increased with 667 paddocks soil tested and 20 farmer nutrient plans developed to help farmers better understand their fertiliser requirements.
New GeoCatch Chair, Vicky Winton, expressed her excitement to be part of the ongoing projects facilitated by GeoCatch. “Geocatch runs so many important projects – there’s a way for everyone to get involved – from the upcoming possum first aid training to the Bay OK native verge program,” said Vicky.
“GeoCatch sits in the heart of the community. I am excited to work with the talented and hugely experienced board, staff and partners in delivering impactful projects that will continue to improve our environment, community and prospects into the future,” said Vicky.
