Capel Primary School restores ringtail habitat

WoW Capel Primary, what an amazing result!

100 year 2 and 3 students got busy planting over 500 native seedlings at their school. The planting will restore habitat for the critically endangered Western Ringtail Possum, as well as provide homes for other birds and native wildlife.

The seedlings were all mulched and provided with biodegradable tree shelters and will be watered by the students for the first summer or two to ensure their survival.

Thanks to Busselton Toyota for their ongoing support of our tree planting activities, and Planet Ark Seedling Bank for making this possible. This project is supported by funding from the Western Australian Government’s State NRM Program.
