GeoCatch is inviting community members and supporters to come together for its Annual Community Sundowner on Thursday, 24 September, celebrating a year of environmental work across the Geographe catchment and recognising the many groups and individuals who have contributed to the organisation’s projects and events.
The sundowner will be held from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the Busselton Men’s Shed Function Room, providing an opportunity for attendees to reflect on the progress made over the past year while connecting with others who share a passion for protecting and enhancing the region’s natural environment.
The evening will include a presentation from Department of Water and Environmental Regulation Principal Environmental Officer, Joel Hall exploring the cumulative environmental impact GeoCatch has delivered across agricultural and urban communities over many years.
GeoCatch Executive Manager, Drew McKenzie will provide an overview of key achievements from the past twelve months, while GeoCatch Chair, Vicky Winton will deliver the Chair’s Report.
Mr McKenzie said the event was an opportunity to celebrate the collective efforts that continue to make a tangible difference across the region.
“The success of GeoCatch’s programs and initiatives is only possible because of the dedication and support of our community, landholders, industry partners and funding organisations,” he said.
“This annual gathering is a chance to look back on what we’ve achieved together, share stories and thank everyone who has contributed to improving the health and resilience of our catchment.”
Guests can enjoy a complimentary beer or wine with fellow community members courtesy of Rocky Ridge Brewing Co and Juniper Estate while learning more about the work being undertaken across the region.
