Farmers After Five: Weeds & Feed

Looking after our mates

How healthy are your pastures—and how healthy are you? Staying on top of weeds early keeps paddocks productive, and checking in on your own wellbeing is just as important for keeping yourself in good working order. This short, casual session is designed to support both healthy farms and healthy farmers.

What to Expect

Join local agronomist Sam Taylor for a practical, bite‑sized session on weed management tailored to local conditions. Sam will cover simple strategies for staying ahead of weed issues and will be available to answer your questions, so feel free to bring along the challenges you’re seeing on your own place.

Second on the program is the Rural Men’s Health Initiative with their hands‑on Fast Track Pit Stop®. This interactive wellbeing check‑in uses a fun vehicle‑service theme to help you take a quick look at your chassis (waist measurement), oil pressure (blood pressure), and shock absorbers (stress and coping skills). It’s a relaxed, non‑invasive way to tune up your own health and walk away with simple tips and resources.

Why Come Along

This is a friendly, low‑key opportunity to learn something useful, look after yourself, and connect with other local farmers. Come along, bring your weed‑related questions, and stay for a drink and some food afterward.

This event is supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program under the Natural Heritage Trust.
